Conquering Today's Resource Plays

Xtreme Drilling and Coil Services is helping operators in major North American resource plays improve their well productivity with drilling performance that is establishing new industry benchmarks. The deep and complex wells dominating today’s drilling landscape demand fit-for-purpose rigs capable of handling the unique challenges these projects present. With the latest AC technology, proprietary controls, automated pipe handling, skidding systems and hook load capacities of up to 500,000 lbs, our XDR rigs are a perfect fit for today’s unconventional horizontal wells.

Xtreme operates one of the industry's newest fleets, with rigs outfitted from top to bottom with the technologies that unconventional shale plays demand:

  • AC driven systems and integrated top drives
  • PLC-based control systems with autodriller and joystick control
  • Automated pipe handling systems
  • Large-capacity mud pumps
  • Integrated well-to-well skidding systems
  • Engineered to move quickly from well site to well site
  • Minimized environmental footprint

Faster Moves, Both On Location and Between Well Sites

Xtreme rigs are among the most mobile in the industry. Modular transportation systems reduce the time it takes to move in, rig up and rig out from days to just hours. Integral skidding systems for multi-well pad drilling offer the on-site mobility required in unconventional shale plays.

Our growing fleet is currently drilling primarily in the U.S. Rocky Mountain region, with rigs in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Colorado, including the Niobrara Shale, and the Williston Basin in North Dakota, including the Bakken Shale. We also have rigs working in Canada’s unconventional plays.
